When And Where To Go Ice Fishing?

Ice fishing season in North America depends on location, temperature and safe ice conditions. Timing and spot selection directly affect your catch rate, and matching the right tungsten ice jig or tungsten rain drop ice jig will improve your results.

The general ice fishing window runs from December to March. Early ice (December) is fantastic. The ice is new and clear, fish are still active and feed heavily before deep winter. Mid-winter (Jan-Feb) brings thick ice, but fish go deeper and become less active. Late ice in March can produce great bites again, but watch out for weak melting ice.

For locations, upper Midwest lakes in Minnesota, Wisconsin and North Dakota are legendary for walleye, crappie and perch. Canadian border lakes also offer world-class hard-water action. Look for weed lines, underwater humps, depth drop-offs and brush piles. These are the hot zones where panfish and walleye gather.

Different depths need different tackle. Shallow weed flats suit lightweight tungsten rain drop ice jig. For deep water over 20ft, pick heavier tungsten ice jig to sink fast.

Our tungsten ice jig and tungsten rain drop ice jig come in many sizes and colors for all ice fishing seasons. Whether your customers chase panfish or walleye, these compact tungsten jigs deliver better sensitivity than lead jigs.
